Admission Information The mission of the Central Michigan University Physician Assistant Program is to educate students from Michigan to provide outstanding quality, cost-effective, primary care in the rural and medically under-served areas of the state and produce leaders for the profession through an innovative curriculum that is responsive to the changing health care environment. Through the admissions process, preference is given to applicants who are Michigan residents, particularly applicants from medically under served areas of central and northern Michigan. Preference is also given to applicants who are in-state students, especially from rural, central and northern Michigan and have completed 60 credit hours at or are alumni of Central Michigan University, are demographically underrepresented in the profession and have past evidence of primary medical care orientation. CMU is an equal opportunity, affirmative action institution that is strongly and actively committed to increasing diversity within its community. The program does not have an advance placement policy but some courses may be waived with the instructor of record recommendation and approval from the program director. |
