The Mission of the Physician Assistant Program at Central Michigan University is to promote a standard of excellence in physician assistant education through an innovative curriculum, to develop compassionate, diverse, and professional leaders who provide high- quality, ethical health care and to emphasize the delivery of primary care to individuals and communities in rural and underserved areas.

PA Students
The program seeks exceptionally qualified applicants who are likely to practice in rural or undeserved locations or with disadvantaged populations. Applicants are assessed on traits such as professional behavior and motivation, background knowledge, academic performance, interpersonal skills, diversity of life and professional experiences, and orientation to the medical practitioner role. CMU is an equal opportunity, affirmative action institution that is strongly and actively committed to increasing diversity within its community. The program does not have an advance placement policy but some courses may be waived with the instructor of record recommendation and approval from the program director.
