hands-on classroom instruction

The Department of Physical Education and Sport offers a Master of Arts in Physical Education with concentrations in the following areas:
 
bullet Teaching option further prepares of the student interested in teaching physical education. Primary emphasis is placed on preparing the student to analyze and implement the teaching and curricular process in physical education.
bullet Athletic Administration option prepares the student for a career in collegiate, high school, or community sport administration through theoretical and practical experiences. Practicum experiences and off-campus internship with a local education agency, university, or sport organization of the student's choice supplement student coursework.
bullet Exercise Science option prepares students to be exercise specialists or provide a foundation for additional graduate study or both. The study of the physiology of work and exercise is the main emphasis of the program.
bullet Coaching option prepares the student for a career in coaching athletics at the interscholastic or intercollegiate levels. The program is flexible and designed to provide both theoretical and practical experience.
