K12 Intervention Programs -- Based on the success of the CMU CHIP

Overview of CHIP
  • Can we favorably alter the number of risk factors in rural and underserved areas by developing a specific intervention programs? Increase the knowledge of children and parents
  • Screen high risk Standard education (lecturing)
  • Web-based education
  • Develop and host a common database that researchers around the state can store their CHIP data for greater collaboration
  • Links to a children's portion of the education portal
  • Improved electronic materials for students, teachers and rural health educators
  • School-based health promotion/fitness
