RTCEN First Responder

RTCEN is sponsoring a unique first responder training course

This free course demonstrates an entirely new way to sustain and enhance medical readiness and knowledge among community first responders

Course uses human patient simulator and Internet-based technology.

Covers aspects of field triage and life-saving operations in mass casualty environments that may occur following industrial/natural disasters or hostile acts (e.g., terrorism), that can be executed by the first responder.

Objectives:

  • Improve student retention skills vs. a multi day seminar
  • Lower the total cost per student hour of training without reducing quality
  • Develop a Just-In-Time training network infrastructure
  • Allow students to remain in their geographic region during the period of training
  • Provide a more frequent, but less obtrusive training schedule for participants
  • Expose a greater number of people to human patient simulator based training
  • Create a more engaging training platform vs. a traditional didactic approach for receiving continuing education credits
